Interview With Jason Levinthal Of Line
By: Roussel

Roussel: What up, thanks for doing this interview.

Roussel: What's going on over at Line right now?

JL: We're really busy getting our new binding out to stores.

Roussel: How come Line isn't making as many skiboard models?

JL: We are making the same number of skiboards as before, excluding the Weapon, we simply simplified the lineup. Instead of each size being a different model we consolidated into two models that support skiboarding with more versatility.

Mike Nick Pro 98cm = Pro 98cm
Five-o 90cm = Pro 90cm
Bullet 94cm = Fly 99cm
Fly 84cm = Fly 90

Roussel: This years Line team doesn't have any skiboarders, how come?

JL: Because there are no comps, mags, videos, events because it is not different enough of a sport from skiing, its all the same, just shorter.

Roussel: So do you still skiboard sometimes?

JL: No, I ride the Skogen Pro Model because the extra length enables me to ski a lot faster, float better in powder and land bigger jumps.

Roussel: What do you think about this talk going around that skiboarding is dieing?

JL: I started making skiboards because skiing needed a good kick in the ass, it needed to change and it did. Don't worry about calling something under 100cm one sport and over another. When you talk about motocross you don't say a 125 size bike is one sport and a 250 is another. Snowboarders don't call 150cm snowboards one sport and a 175cm snowboard another. Its all the same, skis need to be as different as people and the terrain we ride. Its all skiing its just people call short skis skiboards because 7 years ago when they came out they were so radically different they couldn't possibly see them as skis but now if you compare them to skis they are just short skis...AND THAT'S FINE, get over the name and ride what you want because its fun not because of a name someone calls it.

Roussel: Line has been in the skiboarding scene for a long time, what can we expect from you guys in the future?

JL: Making lots more great skis, long, short, wide, skinny, soft, stiff for more and more types of people and styles of riding. There is no uncool style of skiing or skis.

Roussel: Any last words?

JL: Thanks for supporting Line. Fight the power, not your fellow two plankers
