October: Kevin Boate
Roussel: So how was your summer?
Kevin: Not bad, I took a month off from work and went to my cottage, where I did a fair amount of wakeboarding. Then I went to my grandparents cottage on Lake Erie for 2 weeks as well, there I did a shitload of windsurfing, which was incredibly sick, and thats pretty much it.
Roussel: Sounds great, how was your riding last season?
Kevin: It went pretty well, I could have been better but it wasnt bad. It was great goin out to the BentFilms shoots at Bruno, and Tremblant. They were incredibly sick and loads of fun. I didn't progress a huge amount last season, I was just mainly trying to clean up what I already had. Towards the end of the season I got mistys down over some big tables on both skis and skiboards, which really got me stoked. So I feel im prepared to really step things up this season, but we'll just have to wait and see.
Roussel: Anything special planned for next season?
Kevin: Well I'm really excited about the Utah trip with Bailey and Ben in February. It should be super sick. I also plan to make it out to other BentFilms shoots at Sauveur and what not. And of course I'll be goin to the skiboard worlds. Other than that I plan to rip up Calabogie near Ottawa and just try to progress as much as I can.
Roussel: What do you think of the skiboarding industry with all the companies coming out withe their new line up and new companies comming out?
Kevin: I think the industry is really getting back up on its feet, for the first time in a few seasons the sport has started to show its first signs of recovery. I think its great that Canon is coming out with a redone lineup of boards, and Anubis is breaking onto the market with their clothing lineup. I also think its great that the ISF is sanctioning events once again, and holding things like the skiboard demo at Mount Snow. this can only mean good things for the sport. It will let people know that were still here and what were about.
Roussel: Now it's time for you last words and shout outs!
Kevin: Alright here we go, first and foremost I want to thank Bailey Mitchell for always riding with me and being a great teammate. Without him I wouldn't be where I am in skiboarding. I definately also want to thank the rest of Tip-2-Tip, especially Mike Wass for being a great guy and driving us everywhere last season, we will miss you Mike. Also a huge shout out goes out to Ben Wann for everything he is doin for the industry, and bein such a chill guy. Of course I've got to thank Greco form SBOL, Tibor from Canon, and Doc from Skiboards.com, they are the true lifeblood behind this sport. And amy final shout out goes out to anyone who is still skiboarding, and pushing the limits of the sport, wherther it be through the starting of new companies, or just throwin yourself around on the snow. without you guys, there would be no sport, peace!
